Provision and utilization of educational technology in the new normal

The education sector has undergone unprecedented disruptions due to COVID-19 which affect the normal face-to-face delivery of education. With that, the primary concern of the Department of Education is to ensure learning continuity of K to 12 and to continuously deploy multiple learning delivery modalities under the new normal. On the part of the learners, one of the pressing problems they have encountered is the lack of necessary technology and accessibility to internet. Thus, this policy brief is necessary to address the prevailing issue.

Technology is one of the most powerful influences in today's educational scene. This mixed methods study aimed to determine and describe the lived experiences of senior high school learners in terms of the role of technology in 21st century education. The researcher collected data from 100 senior high school (SHS) learners using simple random sampling for the quantitative phase (QTP) and five from SHS students using purposive sampling for the qualitative phase (QLP) for SY 2021-2022.
